The Johns Hopkins International Injury Unit Co-Hosts Sustainability Workshop for Drowning Project

Recently, Johns Hopkins International Injury Research Unit (JH-IIRU) team members, including director Adnan Hyder, assistant scientist Olakunle Alonge and senior research program coordinator, Shirin Wadhwaniya, traveled to Dhaka, Bangladesh as part of the Saving of Lives From Drowning Bangladesh (SoLiD) project.

While there, JH-IIRU met with collaborators from the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icddr,b) and the Centre for Injury Prevention and Research, Bangladesh (CIPRB) to discuss the project.

JH-IIRU also co-hosted a workshop with icddr, b and CIPRB that featured special guests from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Bangabandhu Skeikh Mujib Medical University and the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, Bangladesh. The purpose of the workshop was to discuss ways to sustain the SoLiD interventions one the project is complete.
