Johns Hopkins International Injury Research Unit Participates in Data Management Workshop

On February 25-27, 2016, JH-IIRU faculty member Nino Paichadze participated in a three-day data management workshop in Ethiopia organized by the Global Road Safety Partnership (GRSP) for Addis Ababa Traffic Police Department. The workshop was organized as part of the Bloomberg Initiative for Global Road Safety program.

The main objectives of the workshop were to review current Addis Ababa Police Commission data management system and practice; to train the trainers in data management and intelligence-led policing, strengthen understanding of data-led and strategic enforcement; and to discuss opportunities and challenges to strengthen data collection and use for intelligence-led enforcement.

Dr. Paichadze presented on data management and use in road policing and discussed  opportunities to strengthen data collection and use for strategic enforcement.

The workshop was attended by 35 traffic police officers from the Addis Ababa Police Department.
