Gender Equity/GBV Evidence Accelerator Fellowship FAQs
How long is the program?
The program lasts approximately one-year from kickoff (April 2025) to final written and oral dissemination of mentored mini-project (April 2026).
What are the components of the program?
The program includes select short, virtual coursework periodically throughout the summer. The program also includes the development of a “mini project,” mentored by a Johns Hopkins faculty member inclusive of a weekly data analysis seminar from July – August 2025. Last, the program includes 1-2 in-person funded cohort gatherings throughout the year.
What is the time commitment of the program?
Estimated time commitment: 10 hours weekly on average, up to 20 hours/week during course weeks, plus travel for convening.
What does the fellowship cover financially?
The scholarship will cover the participant’s travel costs, course registration, and faculty mentoring. No compensation will be offered for participant’s time. We encourage those who are employed to discuss their potential participation with their employer, including whether you can engage in coursework and/or meetings that fall within normal working hours.
Is the fellowship virtual?
The program is fully virtual except for an in-person funded cohort gathering.
Who is eligible for the fellowship?
Applicants should be from and currently living/working in a low- or middle- income country and must be currently working in the gender equity/GBV field or studying in a PhD or Postdoc or Junior faculty position focused on gender/GBV. Applicants should demonstrate some research experience, monitoring and evaluation and/or exposure to statistical software (STATA, R etc.).
How do I apply?
Application period opens on January 1, 2025 and closes on January 31, 2025.
When will award announcements be made?
Selections will be made by March 15, 2025.
