Gender Equity/GBV Evidence Accelerator Fellowship FAQs
How long is the program?
The program lasts approximately one-year from kickoff (May 2024) to final written and oral dissemination of mentored mini-project (May 2025).
What are the components of the program?
The program includes select short, virtual coursework periodically throughout the summer. The program also includes the development of a “mini project,” mentored by a Johns Hopkins faculty member inclusive of a weekly data analysis seminar from July – August 2024. Last, the program includes 1-2 in-person funded cohort gatherings throughout the year.
What is the time commitment of the program?
Estimated time commitment: 10 hours weekly on average, up to 20 hours/ week during course weeks, plus travel for convenings.
What does the fellowship cover financially?
The scholarship will cover the participant’s travel costs, course registration, and faculty mentoring. No compensation will be offered for participant’s time. We encourage those who are employed to discuss their potential participation with their employer, including whether you can engage in coursework and/or meetings that fall within normal working hours.
Is the fellowship virtual?
The program is fully virtual except for 1-2 in-person funded cohort gatherings throughout the year.
Who is eligible for the fellowship?
Applicants should be based in a low- or middle- income context and have some experience in gender equity/ GBV and should demonstrate a need for additional skills in evidence-based gender equity/GBV research, programs and/or policy to accelerate the impact of their work and further their career goals.
