Launched in June 2023, this collaborative initiative brings together subject matter experts to explore timely themes in digital health. Each month, we curate, summarize, and comment on recent studies and normative reports, highlighting key takeaways and sharing expert insights from CGDHI researchers and thought leaders from across the globe. 

Research Roundups cover a wide range of global digital health topics, from gender considerations to climate change and from the digitization of community-based information systems to the use of predictive analytics in global health. Some of our past issues(link is external) have featured our colleagues at the World Bank, Global Digital Health Monitor, and the Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs, School of Medicine, and Center for Bioengineering Innovation and Design.

Responsible AI in Global Health: Solutions from the Global South

Digital health solutions based on artificial intelligence are the focus of this month's Research Roundup, which features Chaitali Sinha(link is external) of the the International Development Research Centre(link is external) as guest editor. Sinha presents a new report on implementation research of AI-based solutions in global health, discussing the components of responsible design and showcasing 12 case studies of AI-based interventions led by the Global South.

Guarding Data Integrity: Tackling Challenges in Online Surveys

The first edition of 2025  delves into the critical topic of data integrity in online surveys with our guest editor, Jeffrey Hardesty of the Johns Hopkins' Institute for Global Tobacco Control. Taking a research methods focus, this edition explores the challenges and innovations in ensuring reliable, high-quality data collection in the digital age.
