About us

As one of the first academic centers for digital health, the Center for Global Digital Health Innovation has been instrumental in collaborating with normative agencies, co-creating guidance on digital health innovations, and has played an important role in the development, implementation, and evaluation of scaled digital programs globally.

Initially founded in 2011, and formerly known as the Johns Hopkins Global mHealth Initiative, CGDHI provides valuable technical and evidence-based expertise guidance on digital health with the goal of improving access to care, improving health outcomes, and advancing health equity. The center brings together faculty from schools across the Johns Hopkins University with expertise in public health, education, medicine, engineering, business, economics, public policy, data science, and artificial intelligence.

We leverage Johns Hopkins’ extensive network to support programs in over 100 countries.

For over a decade, the Center–formerly known as the Johns Hopkins Global mHealth Initiative (JHU-GmI), has been both a global leader and supportive partner in research, education, and implementation practice for digital health investment and expansion. As the field has expanded and evolved, so too has the mission, vision, and capacity of CGDHI–breaking new ground in advancing both scholarship in the field and empowering others to strengthen healthcare around the globe. With more and more looking to enhance their knowledge in the field, CGDHI is at the forefront of delivering expertise and thought leadership in digital health for years to come.

We've only just begun.
