Seeking help takes courage. We believe people who are concerned about their sexual thoughts or behaviors involving children can be helped.

Elizabeth Letourneau, Director of MOORE | Preventing Child Sexual Abuse and Michael Seto at the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group collated these support resources for people concerned about their sexual thoughts or behaviors involving children. All of these resources were screened for credibility of source, actionable advice, relevancy, user-friendliness, and accessibility.

HELP WANTED

Free online prevention course for adolescents and adults with a sexual interest in children. Annonymous self-paced sessions provide tools to help individuals live healthy and non-offending lives. 

TROUBLED DESIRE

Self-help website for people concerned about their sexual interests and behavior involving children and adolescents. Site offers online resources and lessons in English, French, German, Hindi, Marathi, Portuguese, and Spanish.

STOP IT NOW! UK & IRELAND

Anonymous hotline and confidential advice and support for people worried about their thoughts, feelings, or behavior towards children. Also offer self-help resources and online chat. 

STOPPEN IS MOGELIJK / STOPPING IS POSSIBLE

Self-help and educational resource hub established in 2017 by Stop It Now! Flanders and Stop It Now! Netherlands for those who are concerned about their viewing of child sexual abuse material.

Free, anonymous consultation and referrals for people with a sexual interest in children through helpline, messenger, and email. Established by Intress association, IRES Foundation, and the Institute of Forensic Psychology. 

TALKING FOR CHANGE

Anonymous support initiative accessible via phone or chat for all ages and free (non-anonymous) 18+ therapy services available in multiple Canadian provinces and territories to help people live healthy, non-offending lives.

Website providing education and resources to prevent child sexual abuse; including self-help pages for people who are concerned they might engage in harmful sexual behavior, a confidential helpline at 1.888.PREVENT and online chat.

French language program based in Switzerland that offers anonymous support for those struggling with their sexual interest in children. Available through helpline and email 

PREVENTELL

Free helpline based in Sweden offering anonymous consultation and referrals for individuals concerned about their sexual interests or behaviors. Provided by Preventell is offered by ANOVA at the Karolinska University Hospital.
