Public Health Policy Guidance Projects

CDC Foundation– Building a Foundation for a Business and Health “Accountability Dashboard” (2021-2022) 

The Institute partnered with the CDC Foundation to explore the viability of creating an accountability dashboard at the community level to inspire collaboration and action between the business community and public health. 

The de Beaumont Foundation– Seven Ways Businesses Can Align with Public Health for Bold Action and Innovation (2020-2021) 

The Institute convened 40 leaders in business and public health to discuss how business and public health can work together to end the COVID-19 pandemic, prepare for future crises, and meet the ongoing needs of communities. The ensuing report, which was made possible with support from the de Beaumont Foundation, offered seven strategic recommendations for successful partnerships. 

Bipartisan Policy Center – Value Proposition White Paper for the Collaboration Between Businesses and Public Health Departments to Improve Community Health (2019) 

The Institute supported the Bipartisan Policy Center in fostering collaborations between local public health departments and businesses to enhance community health. The Institute reviewed literature on the history of collaborations, interviewed thought leaders on “true” partnerships, held roundtable discussions with those “on the ground”, and highlighted successful collaboration case studies.

Partnership for Prevention – Policy Paper (2007-2008) 

The Institute prepared a policy paper for the Partnership for Prevention entitled, “Workplace Health Promotion: Policy Recommendations that Encourage Employers to Support Health Improvement Programs for their Workers” as part of a collection of reports developed to identify policy options for clinical and community preventive services that will further the nation’s prevention goals.
