Alliance to host Congressional briefing on July 23, 2024

July 16, 2024

On July 23, 2024, the U.S. GMH Alliance will host an informational meeting on global mental health for members of Congress and their staff. The meeting has two goals: 1) to inform Congress about the importance of mental health by using data and sharing the lived experiences of mental health professionals working in foreign assistance programming, and 2) to explain how we can readily provide universal mental health service access to boost mental health, physical health, and social and economic resilience. We will also explore the pervasive mental health myths that exacerbate stigma and prejudice against persons with mental health conditions and form barriers to setting up and receiving effective services. This briefing is invitation-only for members of Congress and their staff. To request an invitation, please contact Paul Bolton (pbolton1@jhu.edu).
