CMAP Summer Internship Program
Program Description
The Summer Internship Program offers full-time Hopkins undergraduates the opportunity to work alongside CMAP faculty and staff for 10 weeks over the summer. Interns will engage in both research and administrative duties, collaborating directly with faculty members on research projects and supporting special communications-related projects as needed.
CMAP will accept up to 2 interns for Summer 2025.
Program Details

- Internship duration: 10 weeks
- Program dates: June 2, 2025 – August 8, 2025
- Compensation: $6000
We will conduct interviews in late-February/early-March and make a selection decision by March 14, 2025.

Requirements
Eligible applicants include all full-time Hopkins undergraduates with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Applicants must complete an online application form, which includes the following materials:
- Background Information: Includes name, contact information, major, anticipated graduation date, etc.
- Resume/CV: A resume or CV detailing relevant work or research experience, leadership roles, volunteer activities, and extracurricular involvement.
- Transcript: Unofficial transcripts are accepted. Submit as a PDF attachment.
- Cover Letter: A one-page (maximum), single-spaced statement (Times New Roman, size 12) describing your background, motivation for applying, and relevant interests.
- Reference Contact: Provide the name and contact information of a professional or academic reference.

Responsibilities
Selected interns will:
- Serve as research assistants, contributing to ongoing CMAP research projects (literature reviews, data cleaning, data analysis, etc.).
- Support CMAP research communication efforts (e.g. developing online content, drafting research memos/summaries, identifying media targets, etc.).
- Support administrative tasks and special projects as needed.
- Maintain a hybrid work schedule (3 days on-site, 2 days remote), working up to 37.5 hours per week.
- Regularly communicate with supervisors regarding project progress and expectations.
- Complete a presentation summarizing their experiences and contributions at the end of the program.
