Join the Monitoring and Action for Gender and Equity (MAGE) Project for a special seminar by Dr. Andrea Blanchard from the Institute for Global Public Health at the University of Manitoba.

Dr. Andrea Blanchard is a Research Associate at the Institute for Global Public Health (IGPH), University of Manitoba based in Winnipeg, Canada. Her research focuses on understanding how population health policies and programs can optimally improve health equity among women and children, working closely with numerous global research and implementation partners. Dr. Blanchard has in-depth experience with interdisciplinary mixed-methods as well as health policy and systems research. She provides technical leadership as part of the Countdown to 2030’s country collaborations in Zambia and Pakistan and on the Maternal and Newborn Health Strategies study with 22 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. She also worked on the India Exemplars in Maternal and Newborn Health study, which has led to ongoing collaborations to improve health services for vulnerable urban populations, and to understand improvement in district-level health inequities. She received a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in International Development Studies at the University of Winnipeg, and a Master of Science in Community Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba. She completed a Doctor of Philosophy at the Institute for Global Health, University College London, and then returned to the University of Manitoba for a postdoctoral fellowship funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
