The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is a key federal agency responsible for safeguarding human health and the environment. To fulfill its mission, EPA must employ systems approaches to understand the complex, interconnected nature of environmental and human health. Dr. Chris Frey, EPA’s Assistant Administrator for Research and Development, will discuss the Office of Research and Development’s research priorities and how systems approaches to environmental research advance environmental protection and public health. His talk will focus on EPA’s efforts to advance the science of climate change, cumulative impacts, contaminants of emerging and immediate concern, and more.
