Nkem is a public health strategist, Tuberculosis (TB) and HIV/AIDS expert, a Monitoring and Evaluation subject matter expert, an entrepreneur, and executive team lead with over fifteen years’ experience managing medium to large complex projects focused on infectious and chronic diseases including TB, HIV/AIDS, Leprosy and Buruli ulcer. Her interests include new business development, strategic planning, and program design, deploying gender-driven strategies, health systems strengthening, and health service research and evaluation.
Nkem led Monitoring and Evaluation Programs, and country level TB surveys in Nigeria, was Regional Director in Nigeria for one of USAID’s largest funded global Challenge TB project, and technical review panel (TRP) member for The Global Fund (TGF) Geneva. Nkem is a World Health Organization (WHO) endorsed epidemiologic reviewer and leads surveillance systems reviews for TB control for the various Ministries of Health in Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia countries. She is also a TGF endorsed TB MECA expert (Monitoring and Evaluation Country Assistance Expert) and has successfully provided technical assistance to more than 25 countries globally.
In addition to her MD degree, Nkem holds a MPH from Johns Hopkins, and a Doctor of Public Health from New York Medical College.
