Join us for a conversation with Liz Salerno, PhD, MPH '18.
Elizabeth A. Salerno is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Public Health Sciences, Department of Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
She is trained in health behavior change and has extensive experience conducting federally-funded randomized controlled exercise trials and studying epidemiological associations between physical activity behaviors and health outcomes. Broadly, Dr. Salerno’s research agenda examines the determinants and outcomes of physical activity behavior at the intersection of aging and cancer, specifically as it pertains to cognitive, psychological, and physical function. A large focus of her research agenda includes the design and implementation of community-based physical activity interventions after cancer, disentangling the complexities of accelerated aging during cancer survivorship, and advocating for the inclusion of lifestyle behaviors into the standard of cancer care.
