For a long time, procedural care was considered prohibitively expensive and exceedingly complex to be part of public health systems. Increasingly, however, much of the global burden of disease is attributable to noncommunicable diseases and trauma, both of which can require surgical management. Join the Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Trauma, and Anesthesia Student Society for this panel discussion to explore questions at the intersection of surgery and public health.
