The national opioid settlements provide for an $26 billion payout over a 18-year period. The first round of fund transfers to state and local governments occurred in the summer 2022.  This presentation describes a multi-year collaboration between the multiple branches of state government and the UNC Injury Prevention Research Center that is intended to facilitate transparency and accountability for opioid settlement spending in NC, and utilizes epidemiologic metrics to assist local government in planning their opioid prevention and mitigation programs.
