Department Partnership Advisory Council
Collaborations are critically necessary to achieve the Department's mission of improving the health, nutrition, and well-being of disproportionately impacted populations around the world. We established a Department Partnership Advisory Council to help forge stronger connections with our strategic global health collaborators and to help continue to improve our research and teaching initiatives.
In addition to being leaders in their fields, council members represent a variety of geographies, roles, and program areas. Their guidance helps the Department be responsive to the needs of the communities we serve and to the collaborating organizations and individuals with whom we work.
Objectives
- Strategic support: Provide high-level guidance on the Department's strategic plans and priorities, from the perspectives of our collaborating institutions and colleagues.
- Research: Advise on research collaborations, including identifying research priorities and ensuring mutually beneficial approaches to joint research endeavors.
- Education: Advise on our academic curriculum and help identify opportunities for educational collaborations.
- Advocacy: Help coordinate efforts to advocate for policies and research priorities that will lead to improved health and well-being of disparately impacted communities around the world.
- Fair and equitable collaborations: Build on the Department’s commitment to fair, sustainable, and equitable collaborations within a changing global health landscape.
