The Global Health Field Research Award (GHFRA) is a student fellowship that provides a $3,500 grant for a student-initiated research experience in the U.S. or abroad to address global health issues.
Applicants must identify their own projects and a researcher willing to include them in an existing project. Applicants planning to undertake a project involving human subjects research must have approval from the IRB. The research questions proposed should be the student’s original design. Applications that replicate currently funded research questions will not be considered.

- Project Narrative prepared in the format outlined in the announcement
- Unofficial academic transcript
- Send the following to the Student Program Coordinator
- Signed recommendation form from primary faculty advisor and a second individual
- Signed in-country host letter

- CGH Overseas Travel Release Form
- CGH Travel Registry Form as soon as travel plans are confirmed
- CGH Personal Health Info and Checklist (Complete, send a copy to your emergency contact in the US and retain electronic and hard copies for your travel)
All grant recipients must fulfill program reporting requirements and participate in in Global Health Day (date TBD)
