Benjamin Han MD MPH is a junior faculty in the Division of Geriatric Medicine and Palliative Care at New York University School of Medicine, an attending physician at Bellevue Hospital Center, and an affiliated researcher at the Center for Drug Use and HIV Research at NYU College of Nursing. As a geriatrician his career is focused on caring for vulnerable older adults with chronic diseases. His research centers on substance use among older adults, and issues among the aging substance abuse treatment population. He plans on integrating evidence-based geriatric principles into the field of substance abuse research to develop models of care for older adults in substance abuse treatment. He is also interested in health disparities and immigrant health among older adults, and has research experience in HIV/TB on the Thailand-Burma border. Benjamin has a BA in English from Wesleyan University, an MPH from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health with a concentration in infectious disease, and an MD from the State University of New York, Syracuse. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine and primary care, and fellowship in geriatric medicine all at Boston University Medical Center.
