Christopher Woodrell is Assistant Professor in the Brookdale Department of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City; he is also Staff Physician in the Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center in the Bronx, NY. He is board certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and Internal Medicine, and is an early career health services investigator whose goal is to improve quality of life of people facing hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the most common type of primary liver cancer. He currently holds an American Cancer Society-funded Mentored Research Scholar Grant to develop and pilot test an early palliative care intervention that is tailored to the needs of people with HCC, and their families.
