The Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) now has a new Clinical Investigator website for clinical investigators and others involved with clinical trials. For clinical investigators and others, such as as medical students, who are unfamiliar with FDA's role in clinical research, the introduction of the website provides information as to where to begin on the website and identifies the information which should be read first. Also the website has a specific section that provides FDA's guidance and regulations on the Protection of Human Subjects in Clinical Trials: http://www.fda.gov/ScienceResearch/default.htm

NBAC
The National Bioethics Advisory Committee (NBAC) has published volume II of its report, "Research Involving Human Biological Materials: Ethical Issues and Policy Guidance." Both volumes I and II are available on the web.
- Volume I (NBAC's report and recommendations) was transmitted to the President in August 1999.
