Through our strategic initiatives and designated partners, we work toward eliminating health and healthcare disparities around the world.
The Johns Hopkins Asia-Pacific Center for Hospital Management and Leadership Research is set up within Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Department of Health Policy and Management. We strive to improve the health quality and well-being of people in developing countries through promoting economically and culturally suitable healthcare models. We provide resources to facilitate international academic exchanges to enhance clinical skills and professional knowledge of the underserved areas, especially for the Asia-Pacific region.
Mission
The mission of the Asia-Pacific Center includes:

Promote international cooperation and exchanges among hospitals.

Improve the level and skills of hospital management in China.

Conduct research on hospital management models under the Chinese system.

Implement and promote hospital management models that meet China’s development needs.

Enhance health quality and hospital management levels in the Asia-Pacific region.
Major Tasks
Major tasks of the Asia Pacific Center for 2018-2022 include:

Set up a collaborative mechanism with our China partner Fudan University in Shanghai that will help the Center implement its China activities.

Promote international cooperation and exchanges among hospitals, including training and educational activities.

Improve the level and skills of hospital management for administrators in China through demonstration projects.

Implement and promote hospital management models that meet China’s development needs and carry out projects on training, education, and leadership development.

Conduct research for hospital management models under the Chinese system to promote the progress of healthcare reform.
