ALACRITY Center Studies on Intervention Scale-Up
The Center includes three core pilot studies focused on developing and evaluating implementation strategies to scale up evidence-based interventions shown to be effective in clinical trials at addressing cardiovascular risk factors in people with serious mental illness.
While these interventions have been shown to be effective in clinical trials, they are currently not widely implemented in community mental health programs. These three studies focus on scaling-up interventions shown to achieve weight loss, smoking cessation, and hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and dyslipidemia control among people with serious mental illness.
The Center’s Methods Core includes multiple research projects designed to advance the science around scale-up of evidence-based interventions to address cardiovascular risk in serious mental illness, including systems science and advanced quantitative methods projects. (P50MH115842)
Weight Loss
A core pilot study to test strategies to support widespread implementation of the ACHIEVE behavioral weight loss intervention for people with serious mental illness.
Smoking Cessation
A core pilot study to develop and evaluate strategies to support delivery of evidence-based smoking cessation treatment in community mental health clinics.
Hypertension, Dyslipidemia, and Diabetes Control
A core pilot study of an innovative quality improvement process designed to support effective care coordination for hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and dyslipidemia in community mental health programs.
Methods Core Projects
The Johns Hopkins ALACRITY Center includes stand-alone methods projects designed to develop methods to support intervention scale-up.
